1999 – Doreen Lang, who appeared in the films “Cabinet of Calagari” and “The Birds,” passed away at the age of 84.

1995 – Tessie O’Shea, who appeared in “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” and “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” passed away at the age of 82.

1973 – Merian C. Cooper, producer of the original “King Kong,” passed away at the age of 79. His other production credits included “Mighty Joe Young,” “Son of Kong,” and “Dr. Cyclops.”
