The headlines often report of girls taken and kept for years suffering abuse. Body parts are worth thousands of dollars around the world and drive many of these kidnappings. The world news reports give scary stats reflecting over 10,000 black market operations involving human organs each year. This is the basis for the feature film “Donors” that puts the audience in the intimate environment with the victim. Hollywood actress Niki Saletta, best known for her on-going role on the hit TV show “7th Heaven”, plays the victim. The shadowy figure that deals in the black market organs is one Doctor Savior played by genre favorite DJ Perry, known from thrillers such as “An Ordinary Killer” and “Locked in a Room.”
Charles Pisaeno (Paisaen Productions) wrote, produced and directed the film in association with DJ Perry’s Collective Development Inc. (www.cdiproductions.com). The recently completed film will premiere in Yuma, AZ, on May 24, 2014, in preparation to present to distributors. Pisaeno and Perry had teamed up previously on the thriller “Deadly Renovations” is now in distribution in the US/Canada and Scandinavia markets.
The film also stars Russ Clark, a Yuma radio personality in real life, who plays a version of his on-air self. The plot revolves around an abducted young woman (Niki Saletta) who, because of her dishonest lifestyle, is having trouble convincing anyone to believe her situation. The one person who finally believes in her is Russ Clark. In the movie, Russ works for KBLU AM 560. KBLU supported the endeavor during filming that highlights a very real issue.
