Nicholas Brendon, Maury Sterling star in COHERENCE; heading to VOD June 13!

CoherenceAs a lifelong “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” fan, I’m glad that Nicholas Brendon is re-establishing his foothold in the horror/scifi genres. Besides the iconic vampire series, Brendon has also starred in seven other horror titles. The last one was 2010’s The Portal, and then he appears to have taken a little break from the genre. Now he is returning with starring roles in The Morningside Monster, “Chainsaw Sally: The Animated Series,” and a little movie called Coherence.

Coherence, to me, has some remnants of the historic “Twilight Zone” episode The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street. Coherence seems to be a little less horrific and more of a science-fiction drama and I absolutely cannot wait to see it. “On the night of an astrological anomaly, eight friends at a dinner party experience a troubling chain of reality bending events. Part cerebral sci-fi and part relationship drama, COHERENCE is a tightly focused, intimately shot film that quickly ratchets up with tension and mystery.”

Oscilloscope Laboratories has officially acquired this film for distribution. Coherence had originally been making rounds through the film festival circuit, and even won three awards. Now it will be hitting select theatres and VOD outlets beginning June 13, 2014.

You can find the trailer for this film below.

Coherence is written and directed by James Ward Byrkit (Pirates of the Caribbean, Rango) with Alex Manugian. Cast members include Nicholas Brendon, Maury Sterling (Behind Enemy Lines, The A-Team), Emily Baldoni (Killer Pad, Grizzly Park), Elizabeth Gracen (“Highlander”), Alex Manugian, Lauren Maher (Pirates of the Caribbean), Hugo Armstrong (“NCIS”), and Lorene Scafaria.
