Lloyd Kaufman and Troma has left a mark on horror with the films The Toxic Avenger, The Class of Nuke ‘Em High, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, and so many others. Troma has inspired countless other filmmakers to follow their dreams of making their own films which lead to Lloyd creating the “Your Own Damn” series to help amateur and indie filmmakers conquer their dreams.

This Saturday May 10th
legendary director and Creator of the “Toxic Avenger,” Lloyd Kaufman brings his
world famous “Make Your Own Damn Movie!” MasterClass to Brazil for the first time
as part of the FANTASPOA Film Festival in the city of Porto Alegre.
FANTASPOA, Brazil’s pioneer Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror film Festival, celebrates
Troma’s 40th Anniversary with a collection of Tro-Masterpieces spanning the longest
running independent film company’s forty year history. As a *SPECIAL ADDED ATTRACTION*
to the festival, Lloyd Kaufman will conduct his acclaimed “Make Your Own Damn Movie!”
MasterClass at the Cine Santander Cultura.
Some of the subjects that will be covered in this class are:
1. Writing your script;
2. Raising funds for production;
3. Pre-production: casting, hiring staff, rental search, testing;
4. Production: the three rules of production and the most common problems, special
effects, trails,
5. Post-production: editing your film;
6. Selling your film: choosing the right title for his film and creating methods
to draw media attention;
7. Distribution: By participating in the festivals and film sales circuits, licensing
your film for X distributor distributing on their own, releasing his film without
being arrested.
This fun and informative crash-course in independent filmmaking will be held from
2pm – 8:30pm (6 hours with a 30-minute break) and seating is limited to ensure a
