2009 – Meng Hua Ho, who directed “Xing Xing Wang” a.k.a. “The Mighty Peking Man,” “Chu nu de you Huo” a.k.a. “Evil Black Magic” and “Gou hun jiang tou” a.k.a. Black Magic 2″ a.k.a. “Revenge of the Zombies,” passed away at the age of 86.

2008 – Donald Murphy, who starred in the film “Frankenstein’s Daughter” as ‘Dr. Oliver Frank(enstein), passed away at the age of 90.

2008 – Jack Duffy passed away at the age of 81. He was primarily a TV actor, with appearances in episodes of “Brimstone,” “Friday the 13th” and the 2000 “Robocop” mini-series.

1864 – Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of the novel “House of the Seven Gables,” passed away at the age of 59.
