The Poughkeepsie Tapes FINALLY Available on VOD through DirectTV.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes movie posterI was lucky enough to get a bootleg copy of The Poughkeepsie Tapes way back in 2007, but I didn’t actually review the movie until I started working at HorrorSociety.com in 2011. I remember watching it and being genuinely unnerved and creeped out. The movie looks good, kind of like a very professional documentary interlaced with real home-camera footage, but what will really make the hair on the back of your neck stand up is the acting performances. The depth of emotion, their showing of terror and fear was almost too real.

And now you guys can finally view the film!

As long as your a DirectTV subscriber, that is. The Poughkeepsie Tapes is finally available for VOD streaming to your television through DirectTV, and hopefully this is just one leg of the distribution journey and more people can watch this bone chilling movie, too.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is written and directed by John Erick Dowdle with Drew Dowdle.

“When hundreds of videotapes showing torture, murder and dismemberment are found in an abandoned house, they reveal a serial killer’s decade-long reign of terror and become the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives have ever seen.”
