TCM prequel ‘Leatherface’ gets a scribe!

The upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel entitled simply Leatherface has found a writer. Seth M. Sherwood will tackle the writing duties for the film about Leatherface’s early years before the events of the original 1974 film for Millennium Films. Get all the dirt on the project below.

As of now, plot details aren’t being revealed and no director has been hired as of yet, but production may begin as early as this winter. The film will follow the villain’s early years in the 1970’s.

Carl Mazzocone is producing Leatherface, while Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman will serve as executive producers.

Millennium Films is financing the project and will sell international rights. Millennium executives Beth Bruckner and Christine Crow are overseeing Leatherface for the studio.

Sherwood has several genre projects floating around Hollywood at this time, one of which is a supernatural thriller to be produced by Blumhouse Productions and another psychological thriller entitled Interstate 5.
