It is with great regret that I inform you all of the death of Madeleine Collinson at the age of 62. She passed away on August 14th, but due to the lack of news and only rumors surrounding her death, I was not able to confirm her passing until now. There is no word as to the cause of her death. Madeleine’s only genre appearance was with her twin sister Mary, in the Hammer film Twins of Evil. Even though she only appeared in one horror film, her turn as the nefarious and lustful twin in that film cemented her place in the annals of horror history.
Madeleine and her identical twin sister Mary were born in Malta in 1952. Both Madeleine and her sister came to England in the late 1960’s and were eyed by glamour photographers. The twins both appeared in Playboy and became playmates. They have the distinction of being the first identical twins ever to pose nude in the magazine. Both the twins became international sensations after they appeared nude in Playboy. Due to their success in Playboy, the twins appeared in a handful of films, the best of which is the Hammer vampire film Twins of Evil starring Peter Cushing.
It is reported that Madeleine was not always happy about her notoriety from her appearance in Twins of Evil, but later in life, she must have accepted it because she started appearing at signings and some conventions.
