On the eve of the Toronto International Film Festival, Relativity has made a preemptive strike by grabbing up U.S. distribution rights for the Woman In Black 2. It was a seven figure deal for the sequel to the hit horror film which starred Daniel Radcliffe.

The Woman In Black 2 deal closed today, hours before Warner Bros opens the festival with the Robert Downey Jr-starrer The Judge.

The film is directed by Tom Harper and starring Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCroy. Jon Croker wrote the script and Tobin Armbrust, Simon Oakes, Ben Holden and Richard Jackson produced it. Relativity’s Tucker Tooley and Ryan Kavanaugh have boarded the project as executive producers.

The sequel takes place in the same house 40 years later when a group of children who are evacuated from London during World War II come to stay and awaken the house’s darkest inhabitants. Marc Schipper, Guy East, Nigel Sinclair, Neil Dunn, Graeme Witts, Xavier Marchand, Roy Lee, Richard Toussaint, Wade Barker are also executive producers.

More on this as it develops.
