Submit your thoughts on “Z Nation” and its first episode!

Z NationLast night was the world premiere of SyFy’s new scripted television series, “Z Nation.” It’s a zombie show where survivors of the apocalypse have to transport a man, the only known survivor of zombie bites, from New Jersey to California where a vaccine can be made from his blood. It’s really reminiscent of the plot of The Last of Us on PS3. I’m not sure if SyFy and The Asylum just wanted another hit show on their network and thought “Z Nation” was a sure-fire hit or if they truly believe that “Z Nation” can compete with “The Walking Dead.”

One of my coworkers, Michael Juvinall, was somehow able to watch and review “Z Nation” a day early (he’s a witch!!!). I figured, since he and I have very similar tastes in television shows, that his opinion would be the same as mine. Well, it wasn’t. Juvinall seems to have really enjoyed the pilot episode while I thought it was kind of underwhelming and no where near the same caliber of “The Walking Dead.” After you’ve seen the best that zombie shows have to offer, it’s hard to really get into anything else.

So, I was wondering what all of our readers thought about the first episode of “Z Nation.”

Did you like it? Did you hate it? How do you think the show will progress through its 12 episode first season? Was the zombie baby stupid (I mean, how did it suddenly zip around the room without ever walking before)? Did the girl with the bat with the nails in it remind you of a Caucasian Michonne? Tell me all of your thoughts and send them to michael@horrorsociety.com. I’ll post all the best comments in a new article later next week.
