SyFy’s new scripted series, “Z Nation,” premiered on September 12, 2014. The official numbers have just been released, and 1,600,000 people tuned in for the first episode of the new zombie series and it received a 0.5 mark from Nielson Ratings.

Now, I know that may seem like a low number, especially compared to “The Walking Dead” and its season one premiere which was watched by 5,350,000 people. However, the numbers for “Z Nation” are slightly above average for a show on SyFy Network. I’ve provided numbers for you below so you can see where “Z Nation” stands among new and returning shows in the past year.

Defiance: Season 2 – 2,010,000
Dominion: Season 1 – 1,960,000
Helix: Season 1 – 1,820,000
Z Nation: Season 1 – 1,600,000
Being Human: Season 4 – 1,260,000
Warehouse 13: Season 5 – 1,170,000
Bitten: Season 1 – 1,020,000
Wizard Wars: Season 1 – 1,015,000
Haven: Season 5 – 1,011,000
The Almighty Johnsons: Season 1 – 1,010,000
