Weekend actuals are in… and Annabelle placed second in its opening weekend.
As of Saturday morning, Annabelle had placed first on opening night (10/03) and was about $1.5 million ahead of Gone Girl. However, Gone Girl had an increasing popular first weekend, too, and ended up stealing the top spot from Annabelle by Monday morning. And it was a tough race to the finish line! Gone Girl finished #1 with $37,513,000 made in ticket sales and Annabelle was right behind with $37,134,000!
Annabelle also took in $23,000,000 worth of ticket sales in foreign countries.
It’ll be interesting to see if Annabelle and Gone Girl continue to battle for the #1 spot during the week.
The Nicholas Cage scifi drama-thriller Left Behind came in at #6 with $6,300,000 in ticket sales.
