Fans of teen-based science fiction movies are going to get a glimpse at one of The Shadow World’s most prominent figures in the recently released batch of stills from Potent Media’s Sugar Skull Girls.
The Shadow World, ruled by The Pale Witch (Carmela Hayslett), is strictly policed by minions known as Pumpkin Soldiers. These half humanoid/half pumpkin guards serve one purpose: to uphold the rules and carry out any orders from their evil ruler. And sometimes, ya know, that means attacking a group of thirteen year old girls… You’ll be able to see them in action when Potent Media’s Sugar Skull Girls is released in the first quarter of 2015, but for now you can get a glimpse at one in the new stills below.

Potent Media’s Sugar Skull Girls is written and directed by Christian Jude Grillo, who was formerly the captain on titles such as Deer Crossing and Apocalypse Kiss. It stars Addy Miller (“The Walking Dead”), Carmela Hayslett (“Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors”), Cece Hagen, Isabella Sobejano, and Anika Buchanan. It will also feature appearances from John Amplas (Creepshow, Day of the Dead), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, Weird Science), and Leslie Easterbrook (The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie’s Halloween).
