Jacob’s Ladder actress Elizabeth Pena has passed away.

4x ALMA Winner, Elizabeth Pena has passed away in an official announcement that was released last night. The actress, a founding member of the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors, passed from natural causes stemming from a short illness in her home in California. Elizabeth was 55-years-old. She is succeeded by her two children.

Pena is most known for her roles in La Bamba (1987), Rush Hour (1998), “Resurrection Blvd” from 2000 – 2001, The Incredibles (2004), and “Modern Family” in 2013.

A New Jersey native, Elizabeth Pena’s career spanned over four decades, making her one of the most prominent Latina actresses in recent years. Whenever such a prolific actor/actress passes away, I always like to mention their work in the horror, science fiction, and thrilling films…as a way to thank them for their contributions to our favorite genres.

Pena’s noteworthy credits in our field include Jacob’s Ladder (1990), 1 episode of “The Outer Limits” in 1995, The Invaders (1995), It Came From Outer Space II (1996), Strangeland (1998), Imposter (2001), Dragon Wars: D Day (2007), 1 episode of “Ghost Whisperer” in 2009, Prototype (2009), and In the Dark (2012).

All us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to her family, friends, and fans.
