Freddy’s Not Dead Yet: Robert Englund to don effects and costume at London Film and Comic Con.

Back in June, Robert Englund announced that he would be in full special effects and costume as Freddy Krueger one final time…all in the name of charity. The retirement appearance took place at Flashback Weekend in Illinois in August and all the proceeds for his photo op were sent to remodeling and reopening the Midway Drive-In Theater. Englund’s “final” appearance as Freddy was heavily publicized and fans scrambling to meet the iconic character one final time had to pay a minimum of $365. Well, it doesn’t look like Freddy’s Dead…yet.

It was announced on Wednesday that Robert Englund will appear as Freddy Krueger once again at the London Film and Comic Con that will take place July 2015. Maybe Englund is just trying to give his warm goodbyes to fans across the globe one at a time? Horror fans dying to meet this member of horror royalty can pay $20 for a simple autograph or picture, or pay $135 for the Diamond Package. The Diamond Package gets you a photo with Englund as Krueger with special effects done by actual Elm Street artist Robert Kurtzman. Also included in the package: an autograph, a seat in the Nightmare on Elm Street panel, limited edition LFCC Krueger Print, and limited edition LFCC Krueger T-Shirt. I think this is actually a pretty good bargain!

The London Film and Comic Con will take place July 17 through July 19 at the Olympia in Kensington, UK.

Other guests include Colin Baker (“Doctor Who”), Emily Kinney (“The Walking Dead”), Erik Bauersfeld (Star Wars), Gareth David-Lloyd (“Torchwood”), Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones”), and Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”). More guests will be announced in the coming months.
