Jurassic World: 3 Things We Know About The Latest Installment

Jurassic World

Scheduled for release in June 2015, Jurassic World is the fourth installment in a franchise that has flattered to deceive since its inception in 1993. While the first film won rave reviews and was a major hit at the Box Office, for example, the subsequent sequels disappointed many and failed to capture viewers’ imagination.  The decision to introduce an additional chapter was therefore met with skepticism from many fans, many of whom felt that the concept had run its course after the last offering.

With rumors and opinions abound, however, let’s take a look at three things we know for sure in the new movie:

It will Feature a New, Hybrid Dinosaur
The Jurassic Park films have always followed a similar plot, so fans will have intrigued whether or not the new output adds a different dimension to the franchise. In some ways the answer is yes, as the producers have introduced a new breed of hybrid dinosaur that serves as the central point of the plot. Although it does not deviate too much from the existing theme, it is a unique and innovative touch that has delighted some but horrified others. For some it was a necessary move to enrich the franchise, for example, but for others it strayed too far from the carefully conceived and classic theme.

The Outline for the Plot
As sketchy as it may be, the outline for the plot is widely known among movie fans. The controversial hybrid dinosaur is the pivot on which the plot hinges, with the species (having reportedly being bred with frogs) serving as a new attraction at the now-famous Jurassic Theme Park. Things go horribly wrong with the new addition to the Jurassic family, however, resulting in catastrophic results both for the owner and unfortunate visitors. This may well sound familiar, but at least the brains behind the film are treading a well-known and brightly lit path.

Jurassic World Fever will soon hit the World
The film is likely to benefit from huge amounts of hype around the world, especially given the success of the first installment. The movie is now an icon of popular culture, with products such as board games and a Jurassic Park-inspired Royal Vegas casino app available for fans to enjoy. In this respect, the success or failure of the film is almost irrelevant, as the power of loyal fans and recognition will draw a huge cinema crowd and sell significant amounts of merchandise all around the world.
