Sharknado 3 Already Lining Up Celebrity Cameos?

Sharknado 2 image 3

It’s going to be interesting to see if Sharknado 3 can continue the trend of the success in the campy, CGI-ridden franchise. Sharknado debuted to 1,300,000 viewers, but society’s bizarre interest in the movie propelled the sequel to debut to 3,900,000 viewers. I can’t see Sharknado 3 beating that record, but that doesn’t mean that producers behind the film and the SyFy Network aren’t going to try!

Sharknado 3 is officially set to return in July 2015 and this time it’s going to see a new location being battered by tornados which throw massive sharks at unsuspected pedestrians. Actually it’s more like an entire coast – from Washington DC to Orlando, specifically. Franchise creators Thunder Levin and Anthony C. Ferrante have returned to write and direct this feature film, and Ian Ziering is tapped to return as the main character. There has been no officially confirmation yet as to whether Tara Reid will reprise her role as well.

As with Sharknado 2, producers are trying to get a number of celebrity cameos lined up for Sharknado 3. Sharknado 2 had a whopping 14 celebrity cameos featured during the action and you can read them all here. Currently, there are three people rumored to cameo/appear in Sharknado 3. Two of them are very famous indeed, while the third seems to be a just an up-and-comer. You can find the three rumored cameos below.

Vanilla Ice – The white rapper is most known for his #1 single in 1990, Ice Ice Baby. The song was certified platinum and helped to propel his debut album, To the Extreme, to the #1 spot on Billboard for 16 weeks. The album was certified 7x platinum, and its second single, Play that Funky Music, was a top five hit that also went gold. After those musical successes, Vanilla Ice struggled to maintain album sales and eventually joined he world of reality television in the mid-2000s. He is still appearing as a “personality,” with many appearances on reality shows, celebrity clip shows, and as the occasional bit part player in network series.

Cindy Margolis – Cindy is a Guinness Book of World Records holder and socially dubbed “The Queen of the Internet.” At the dawn of he internet, no one was bigger than Cindy Margolis and from 1996-1999 her photos were being downloaded at a rate of 70,000 times per day, which was huge in those days. Cindy was a model before being the first woman to “Break the Internet,” and continued with the career as time went on. She even appeared in Playboy in 2006 and in 2008. She also works as a “personality,” with many appearances on reality shows, celebrity clip shows, and radio shows.

Brittani Cox – One of the few people to make a career out of being a bit part player. Brittani has appeared as bit parts in dozens of network shows including “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Are You Afraid of the Dark,” and “Lizzie McGuire,” before she transitioned to the world of horror films. Since then she has held featured extra and featured spots in Twilight (2008), Friday the 13th (2009), Sorority Row (2009), The Roommate (2011), Scream 4 (2011), Maniac (2012), and Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013).
