  • 2009 – Ron Asheton who was bassist/guitarist along with Iggy Pop in the band :The Stooges,” passed away at the age of 60. In recent years, the band’s music has been rediscovered and used in the soundtrack of films like Rob Zombie’s “Halloween,” the 2005 version of “House of Wax” and “The Crow: City of Angels.”
  • 2009 – John Scott Martin, who appeared in the 1986 version of “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Young Sherlock Holmes” and as a “Dalek” in the original “Dr. Who” series, passed away at the age of 82.
  • 2003 – Comedian Billy Van, who hosted “The Hilarious House of Frightenstein,” passed away at the age of 69.
  • 1977 – Niall MacGinnis, better known for portraying “Dr. Julian Karswell” in “Curse of the Demon”, he also appeared in “Jason and the Argonauts”, “Island of Terror”, “Torture Garden”.
  • 1949 – Victor Fleming, best known for directing the films “The Wizard of Oz,” “Gone With the Wind” and the 1941 version of “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde,” passed away at the age of 65.
