Huge Casting Announcement for Murphy’s “Scream Queens.”

joe-manganiello-premiere-the-last-stand-03Ryan Murphy, the creator of “Glee” and “American Horror Story,” is busy putting his upcoming series, “Scream Queens” into pre-production. Weeks ago it was announced that the fifteen episode premiere season would feature Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, The Fog) and Emma Roberts (Scream 4) in lead roles.

Tonight more casting announcements were made, although I can’t say I’m particularly happy about one or two. I’m happy that “Scream Queens” is adding a lot of star power to its line-up, but I’m kind of bummed that a lot of them aren’t horror actors and scream queens.

Joining the first season of “Scream Queens,” welcome Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” Magic Mike), Lea Michelle (“Glee”), KeKe Palmer (“Masters of Sex,” Animal), and Abigail Breslin (Zombieland). Pop singer Arianne Grande will also join the show in a recurring role.

In this upcoming series from Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan, a campus is rocked by a series of grisly murders. Season one of the show is expected to head into production this Spring, with the premiere episode hitting FOX this fall.
