By this point it is no secret that I am a huge fan of the BBC series Doctor Who.  I had watched the series when I was younger when I stayed with my grandmother.  The series really did offer something for everyone.  The stories, which was always modeled after most crime dramas and mysteries, offer something for the sci-fi fans, creatures and monsters for the horror fans, unintentional romance for the female viewers, and so much more!

This tremendous show has spawned so many fan films and web-series but few go back to the classic era which took place before the 2005 revival.  One upcoming fan series takes fans back to the Doctor from 1974 – 1981 with the show Doctor Who: The Classic Series Regenerated with actor Ronn Smith taking on the iconic role as the fourth doctor.

I recently spoke with Ronn about the upcoming show and this is what he had to say.

What I’m hoping to have up by the end of February is the fund-raising trailer. I’m hoping to have the script for the first full-length story we’ll produce around the same time. Then, it would just be trying to get some funding… setting up a Kickstarter or Indiegogo account…and get going on gearing up to start shooting over the summer.

One thing that would also be a help is if you put the word out that we’re still looking for writers and story ideas for future productions as well. I’m still wanting to build a library of possible stories. Anyone interested can contact us through the productions FB page.

Doctor Who fans and writers of fan fiction now have the opportunity to see their own Doctor story arcs become realities.  If you are interested in this amazing opportunity then please reach out to Ronn through the DW: TCSR Facebook page which is linked above!
