(Review) Daniel Jones Doom

Doom-Cover-Large

It can be very hard for authors to follow a successful first book in series with a sequel that can still hold the reader with the same excitement and awe. In Daniel Jones Doom the sequel to the highly acclaimed book Frenzy a Daniel Jones Story the author Mark King has managed to do just that. The style of writing follows the same fast pace vivid writing that gives the reader a clear picture in their mind of the various characters, both old and new, that make Daniel Jones Doom such a great book to read. In Frenzy three people are forced together on a quest to survival with plenty of twist and turns, and in Doom once again Daniel, Mary and Gwendolyn are forced on a journey to save Daniel’s father. As the story unfolds so does the blood and gore with scenes so intense you will be startled from your sleep.

With the Over-seers Mark King has created a new genre of evil that can more than match such great writers as Stephen King or Graham Stoker. With Hunters who do the dirty work of the new masters of humanity, and the fearful Tri-clops, all the pieces are in place for a truly deathly race for the three hero’s as they fight danger at every turn. As in Frenzy the first chapter is only one page long, but it starts the story with an intensity that lasts to the very last page.

Daniel Jones Doom is a complete story in its own right so you don’t necessarily need to read Frenzy a Daniel Jones Story, but I would still recommend it as they are both two books that at only about 225 pages each haven’t been padded out with pointless writing. Every page counts and with Daniel Jones Doom you defiantly get your monies worth.
