CONFIRMED: Friday the 13th’s Jason is coming to the new Mortal Kombat!

After much speculation and wishing, the unstoppable killing machine known as Jason Voorhees has been confirmed for Mortal Kombat X!

From the article on Yahoo by Andrew Webster:

“The upcoming Mortal Kombat X features a pretty big cast of characters, including series mainstays like Goro and Sub-Zero. But it will also feature a surprising new face hidden behind a hockey mask: Warner Bros. announced today that Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th will be a playable character in the game.

Unfortunately, as is typical with modern games, Jason won’t be featured in the base game, but instead only available as downloadable content that you’ll need to purchase seperately. He’ll be available in a pack of four characters — the others haven’t been announced yet, but will include two classic Mortal Kombat fighters and one “special guest character” — that comes with the collector’s editions of the game. If you want to buy them separately, it will cost a whopping $29.99 for the set (it will also include a handful of new character skins). Whether his machete-based fatalities will be worth the price of admission remains to be seen.

Mortal Kombat X will be launching on April 14th for a number of platforms, including PC, PS4, and Xbox One.”
