‘Gremlins’ Remake Gets a Writer

Gremlins

In a quick bit of news, Warner Bros. has announced they now have a writer for their remake of the 1984 cult film, Gremlins. The studio has tapped Carl Ellsworth (Goosebumps) to tackle the script for the remake.

The memorable original black comedy was scripted by Christopher Columbus, who’ll produce this along with Steven Spielberg, an exec producer on the original.

Gremlins centers around a cute and cuddly creature who must adhere to certain rules – he must not be fed after midnight or get wet otherwise he’ll spawn evil little gremlins that will raise hell.

Ellsworth’s credits include Disturbia and the remakes Last House On The Left, and Red Dawn.

I hate to say it, but I’m filing this one under another needless remake, we’ll see.
