Horror icon Sid Haig (Devil’s Rejects, House of a 1000 Corpses) will be voicing the role of Sal, a bad stand-up comic at a burlesque strip club, in the upcoming surrealistic horror/thriller, ABRUPTIO.
ABRUPTIO will be like no other film to date. All of the actors on screen will be life-sized, realistic latex puppets, paying homage to the kind of puppetry cinema that the Hensons are known for (Labyrinth, Dark Crystal). Writer and director Evan Marlowe, who is also the Amazon bestselling author of Menagerie, hopes to pay this art form justice.
Mr. Haig will be joining James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Angel”) and Chris McDonald (Happy Gilmore, The Faculty) who are also lending their voices to the project.
Les Hackel (Marsters) is a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive while trying to identify the mastermind manipulating the now twisted and strange world around him.
Based in L.A., HellBent Pictures will start recording the talent in May, while the puppets are designed and fabricated in the U.K. Principle photography is scheduled to begin this summer.
