Robert Hamilton’s THE SUFFERING Unleashes New, Anxiety Inducing Trailer.

Poster“Those who sin must suffer?” Oh, god, that log line is talking about me isn’t it?

I had never heard of The Suffering until today, but I can tell that this title has been on a remarkable journey over the last two years. From conception to pre-production to principal photography to pick up shoots to a successful Kickstarter campaign… Now the film has officially finished the editing process and has released a new trailer to Vimeo in celebration of this milestone.

You can find the awesome new trailer at the bottom of this post. And I have to say comparatively, it was well worth the wait to those closely following this film!

The Suffering follows Henry, a man at a cross roads in his life. A diminished bank account and a baby on the way with his estranged wife, his personal life in shambles. When Mr. Remiel, an elderly shut in, offers Henry a lucrative sum to appraise his rural estate, he accepts without hesitation. What follows is a harrowing exploration of mind and madness; a journey through an estate as vast and beautiful as it is secretive and horrific. When Henry closes in on the land’s dark truth, Remiel’s eccentric behavior takes a menacing and unforgettable turn. In this twisted tale of morality and redemption, Henry must confront the terrors of his present while coming to terms with the horrors of past.

The Suffering is directed by Robert Hamilton (Key, The Patient) based on the screenplay he wrote with executive producer Marco Scola (Project X, “Blue Mountain State”). This horror thriller features cinematography from David Newbert (Key, Marfa Girl) and stars Nick Apostolides (The House Across the Street), Regen Wilson (“Veep”), Elizabeth Deo (“MANswers”), Phil Amico (Conquering the Rose) and Chad Eric Smith (Squid Man).
