  • 2013 – Jeff Hanneman, lead guitarist and writer of the majority of the songs for thrash metal band “Slayer.” He passed away at the age of 49 from liver failure.
  • 2010 – Lynn Redgrave, who co-starred in the film “Gods and Monsters,” passed away at the age of 67.
  • 2002 – Ron Soble, who appeared in the films “The Beast Within” and “Pterodactyl Woman from Beverly Hills,” passed away at the age of 70.
  • 2001 – Gina Mastrogiacomo, best known for playing Ray Liotta’s mistress “Janice” in “Good Fella’s,” passed away at the age of 39 due to a rare heart infection. She appeared on “The X-Files” and in the film “Alien Space Avenger.”
  • 1999 – Oliver Reed who starred in the films “Burnt Offerings,” “Curse of the Werewolf” and “The Brood,” passed away at the age of 61.
  • 1990 – David Rappaport who starred in the films “The Bride,” “Time Bandits” and the short lived TV series, “The Wizard,” passed away at the age of 38.
  • 1982 – Hugh Marlowe, passed away at the age of 71. His many film appearances have included “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “Earth vs. the Flying Saucers,” and “Castle of Evil.”
  • 1980 – George Pal, who directed the films “The Time Machine,” ” The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao,” as well as producing
    “War of the Worlds,” passed away at the age of 72.
  • 1972 – Bruce Cabot, who saved Fay Wray from the clutches of “King Kong,” passed away at the age of 68. He also appeared in the “James Bond” film “Diamonds Are Forever.”
