It’s ladies night and the feeling’s right. Oh yes, it’s ladies night, oh what a night. That’s a Kool & The Gang reference for folks who don’t get it, and the catchy 1979 classic was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that Ladies Night was in development. Although, something tells me this horror film won’t be as funky as it is bloody and fucked up.
Ryan Stacy, most known to readers as the mastermind behind Midsummer Nightmares (2011) and Midsummer Nightmares II (2014), is back at it again, having co-written the feature film’s script and he’s also tapped to sit in the director’s chair when Ladies Night heads into principal photography in the coming months. The plot of Ladies Night is currently under lock and key, but browsing over the film’s official Facebook page, I can see that “evil sorority girls” and “alpha male at the fraternity” are referenced during character descriptions. Sorority girls in horror films are a guilty pleasure of mine, so my attention has definitely been grabbed here!
Ladies Night just went into development and pre-production in May and right now the main focus seems to be on casting. Already the three head girls have been named along with most of the lead and supporting cast. Amanda Collins, Kelci C. Magel and Kayla McDonald will be the lovely ladies that this night will focus around. They will be joined on screen by Corey A Trush, Roger Conners, Danielle Inks, Joe Kidd, Stacy Freeders, Titus Young, Erin R. Ryan, Ashlie Lopez, Chelsie Farah, Josh Miller and Dave James.
A few more casting announcements are currently pending.
