Short Film: The Last of Us

The Last of Us, a horror-survival video game from Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment, was one of the highest selling video games of 2013 and 2014. It boasts numerous awards and dozens of 10/10 reviews. So, horror fans and gamers alike were thrilled when it was announced in March 2014 that Screen Gems would make a feature film adaption with producer Sam Raimi. However, it’s been well over a year since that announcement and nothing else has come to light, which makes me believe that, unfortunately, the game to film adaption of The Last of Us has probably been scrapped.

Luckily, though, the game has spawned an extremely diehard fanbase, many of which have turned to their own independent production companies to create fan films for the series. Iron Horse Cinema is own of those companies and their Last of Us fan film has close to half a million views on YouTube. Directed by Sy Cody White and Nick Sgroi and featuring cast members Jeff Moffitt and Kate McLeod, Iron Horse Cinema gives fans a fourteen minute look at what could have been something great. Well done, guys!

Also, don’t forget to search YouTube for other Last of Us fan films!
