Texas Chainsaw Prequel, “Leatherface,” Drops New Promo Poster.

11209348_10152979046426604_7063497214205557817_nAccording to UHM, this is the latest promotional poster for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel, Leatherface, due out in 2016. It looks OK to me, although the credits are a little blurry, which makes me believe this could possibly be fan-made?

Currently in post-production, Leatherface will show the events that turn a young teenager in the backwoods of Texas into the deranged, chainsaw swinging psycho first introduced in 1974. The plot will follow Jackson (future Leatherface) and three other teens as they escape from a mental institution and take a nurse on a road trip YOU won’t soon forget.

Leatherface was written by Seth M. Sherwood with directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury. Cast members will include Lili Taylor (The Conjuring, “Hemlock Grove”), Stephen Dorrif (Blade, FearDotCom), Nicole Andrews, Sam Strike (“EastEnders”), Julian Kostov, Vanessa Grasse, James Bloor and Sam Coleman.

Texas Chainsaw 3D was released in 2013 to mixed reviews but was a modest hit at the box office. It will be interesting to see if horror fans will get on board with this idea.
