  • 2011 – David Hess, starred in such films as “The Last House on the Left”, “House on the Edge of the Park”, “Swamp Thing”, “Zombie Nation” and more. He was 69.
  • 1849 – Great horror writer Edgar Allan Poe. He penned such stories as “The Mask of the Red Death”, “The Raven”, “The Fall of the House of Usher”, “The Tell-Tale Heart”, “The Pit and the Pendulum” all of which have been turned into films. He passed away at the age of 40.
