The story is about Dante, a scientist in the late 21st century, who is working on teleportation technology when a cataclysmic event, a meteor strike near his hometown of San Francisco, causes him to have to use the transporter to transport him and six others to safety.
The creator of the series, an artist known as Freematik, had this to say about why the series is free: “I love halloween, and have always thought of it as a holiday for the creative mind. Halloween inspires people to share their creativity with others in the most original of ways! It was in that spirit that I started Dark Moon officially last halloween, and now this year I am offering our third free motion comic in the spirit of halloween fun!”
Even though it is free, Dark Moon is full of creative and well produced material, and their online comments are full of praise such as “This comic gave me chills!” and “A beautiful piece of art”. Not only has the art been appreciated, but one of the most interesting aspects of Dark Moon is how they use music and sound FX to draw the reader into the experience.
