Finally! I’m glad I’m not the only one wondering what’s going on with this movie!

A few weeks ago I noticed that someone had updated the Eloise IMDB page to reflect that the upcoming horror-thriller filmed in and around Michigan was “completed” and had a scheduled premiere in Chile, of all places, set for mid-October. The premiere, unfortunately, proved to be false information and once again I was left in the dark as to whether or not I’ll see Eloise in 2015 or even in 2016; my biggest fear being that it would be shelved indefinitely.

Luckily, Maryann Struman (hey, Mary!) contacted me through Twitter to share an article that her fellow journalist at Detroit Free Press had published in reference to Eloise. The article notes that, yes, Eloise has been in post-production since 2014, but sources behind-the-scenes are starting to be more vocal about its upcoming release. Producer Sanford Nelson confirmed that Eloise has secured distribution rights in foreign territories like Germany and South America and that they are currently in talks to get the film picked up in America as well. This means that the title has not been shelved and we should see Eloise in 2016!

Made on a budget of $1,950,000, Eloise was filmed inside the real life, former insane asylum of the same name in Westland, Michigan. The script was penned by Christopher Borrelli (The Vatican Tapes) and brought to life on camera by director Robert Legato, who previously won Oscars in 1998 and 2012 for visual effects. Cast members include Eliza Dushku (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Dollhouse,” Wrong Turn), Chase Crawford (“Blood & Oil,” “Gossip Girl”), Robert Patrick (“Scorpion,” Terminator 2), Brandon T. Jackson, P.J. Byrne, Nicole Forester, Ricky Wayne and Tim Holmes.

In Eloise, “four friends break into an abandoned insane asylum in search of a death certificate which will grant one of them a large inheritance. However, finding it soon becomes the least of their worries in a place haunted by dark memories.”
