Horror Sales: Krampus was the #1 movie on Friday night.

Krampus

Tis the season to… die?

Krampus narrowly beat The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 for the top spot on Friday night, with the holiday horror film bringing in $6,010,000 in ticket sales and the finale in the book-to-movie franchise bringing in $5,620,000. It’s such a small gap, though, that I fear Krampus won’t be able to maintain its position by the end of the week and I’m doubtful it’ll become the second #1 horror film of 2015.

Krampus was distributed to 2,902 theaters by Universal and, based on the film’s $15,000,000 production budget, it’s on its way to becoming another successful release for the company

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that Krampus will make $26,000,000 by the week’s end and I think it’ll place second or third on the most important chart next Friday. Remember, there’s one thing you can do to help beat my prediction: make sure you go see Krampus in theaters today!

Top 5 on Friday:
Krampus – $6,010,000
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 – $5,620,000
Creed – $4,605,000
The Good Dinosaur – $3,409,000
Spectre – $1,600,000
