I think we can all agree that horror hosting is an art form that is often underutilized by our community. When done correction, a series or special can be both hysterical, educational and nostalgic. That’s why I have such high respect for the men and women who try to keep said art form alive in the 2010’s. Sadly, though, I was unaware of a show’s existence and the joy that a particular cast member brought to the show until it was too late.

I read earlier today on Facebook from a director whom I respect that actress Sarah Doucette has passed away. Sarah had a huge year in 2014 – first appearing as Molly Mugwort in “Kount Kracula’s Review Showcase” before deciding to broaden her character spectrum by becoming a recurring co-host on “Partially Devoured Movies” for most of its second season. She even returned as the character for a third time that year in the movie spin-off Johnny Ghoulash Escapes from Creightonville.

I may not have known Ms. Doucette personally, but it seems that those who knew her really loved her and the character she portrayed online. Mostly, she earns my respect as a woman who worked courageously in the independent horror community and as someone who worked to keep horror hosting a staple in that community. Remember, even the best main hosts need great co-hosts to really soar, and now Doucette soars above the rest.

Rest in Peace, Ma’am.
