Neil Gaiman, author of such noted works such as “Coraline”, “American Gods” and “Trigger Warning” has graciously supported a recent crowdfunding campaign to place a life size, bronze bust of “Dracula” author Bram Stoker at the Dublin Writers Museum on World Dracula Day, May 26, 2016.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Mr. Gaiman’s kindness and generosity” says Bryan Moore, the sculptor who has successfully crowdfunded efforts to place busts of H.P. Lovecraft at the Providence Athenaeum Library in Rhode Island and Edgar Allan Poe in Massachusetts at the Boston Public Library. “It’s quite humbling for the entire project team and I to enjoy working with Mr. Gaiman on this very worthy project to recognize one of literature’s most notable authors and creator of the iconic character of Count Dracula.”

Gaiman has signed ten copies of “The Annotated Dracula” with editor Les Klinger for project donors, which sold out immediately on the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/poebronzebust/the-bram-stoker-bronze-bust-project

Moore continues “We weren’t surprised at all that these signed books were snapped up so quickly as we’re offering many signed books from prolific authors who specialize in the vampire milieu such as David J. Skal, Steve Niles, Stephen Jones and Bram’s own great grand-nephew Dacre Stoker. Being able to offer the signed books from Mr. Gaiman and Mr. Klinger was simply the icing on the cake.”

Dracula, vampire and Bram Stoker fans needn’t be disappointed at the sold out Gaiman books, though. A treasure trove to choose from, there are books, jewelry, model kits, posters, hoodies and even a chance to score a bronze copy of the actual Bram Stoker bust itself.

“While the project is off to a very respectable start, we still have a long way to go.” elaborates Moore. “While the team and I can donate our time to this very noble cause, the hard costs of the project can only be realized with the fans’ help. We know we can count on each and every fan who ever enjoyed reading, watching or dressing up as Dracula for Halloween to help us achieve our goal which is, quite simply, to bring Bram home. There has never been a bronze bust or statue of him and we’re making sure that the godfather of the vampire genre gets the tribute that has long been overdue.”
