Rocky DeMarco hasn’t done too much acting in the last handful of years, mostly due to illness, reality television fame, new photo shoots and honing her musical talents. You may remember protege of Jim Wynorski for her numerous roles in horror films including Possessed by the Night (1994), Cyborg 3: The Recycler (1994), Sorceress (1995), The Wasp Woman (1996), Cheerleader Massacre (2003), The Curse of the Komodo (2004) and Vampire in Vegas (2009). Honestly, Rocky is a true talent in the industry, a jack of all trades, and she’s put everything on hold right now to focus on another entertainment adventure: music.

A quick scan of IMDB shows that Ms. DeMarco wrote a song that was featured in 2009’s Lost in the Woods and she performed on the soundtrack for Camel Spiders (2011), a title she also co-starred in. Her love of music goes deeper than that, though, mostly due to the inspirations of her mother Arlene DeMarco; Arlene being 1/5 of The DeMarco Sisters, a close harmony group who provided covers and theme jingles for television and radio in the 40’s and 50’s. Rocky even previously released a cover of “Fools Rush In” to iTunes and Spotify under her legal name Melissa Brasselle. And with your help she plans to release her debut jazz album.

The actress, mother and singer has launched a GoFundMe campaign in hopes of raising enough funds to record and master an EP. The plan for the album is to be a collection of hit jazz songs, all of which were special to her mother. Other proceeds from the campaign will go towards helping Rocky and her daughter, Hayley, move into a new home after theirs was ruined by poisonous mold. The campaign has already raised over $2,000 in a month and you can donate by clicking here.
