  • 1987 – Laura Ortiz, who appeared in “The Hills Have Eyes” remake, “Hatchet II”, “Chillerama”, “Holliston (TV Series)” and “The Real Housewives of Horror (TV Series).”
  • 1973 – Andre Gower, probably best known for his childhood role of “Sean” in “The Monster Squad.” He has also appeared in “Vault of Darkness”, “Caesar and Otto’s Paranormal Halloween.”
  • 1966 – Matt Reeves, director of Cloverfield. He wrote the screenplay for and directed “Let Me In,” a remake of the 2008 Swedish film”Let the Right One In”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
  • 1964 – Lisa Wilcox, who portrayed “Alice Johnson” in “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5.” She also appeared in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the Fearnet’s web series “Fear Clinic.”
  • 1962 – James Le Gros, appeared in “Near Dark”, “Phantasm II”, “Psycho remake.”
  • 1962 – Victoria Price, daughter of Vincent. She authored the 1999 book “Vincent Price; A Daughter’s Biography” and appeared (in a brief role) in “Edward Scissorhands.”
  • 1947 – Toshio Shiba who starred in “Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster” and “Ultra Q: the Movie.”
  • 1937 – Sandy Dennis, who appeared in the films “976-Evil,” “God Told Me To,” and the TV movie “Something Evil.”
  • 1922 – Jack Klugman. He was a favorite of Rod Serling who cast him in several episodes of the “Twilight Zone.” He also appeared in a 1995 episode of “The Outer Limits,” entitled “Glitch.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – APRIL 27

  • 2005 – Charles A. Pratt, executive producer for the films “Willard,” it’s sequel “Ben” and “Terror In The Wax Museum,” passed away at the age of 82.
  • 2002 – Robert Joseph, who wrote for the TV series “The Veil” and the screenplay for the film “Door To Door Maniac,” passed away at the age of 79.
  • 2001 – Jack Murdoch who appeared in the films “Altered States” and “Psycho III,” passed away at the age of 78.
  • 1996 – Adam Roarke, who appeared in the films “Frogs,” “Women of the Prehistoric Planet” and the original TV pilot for the “Star Trek” TV series, “The Cage,” passed away at the age of 58.
  • 1980 – The King of Italian horror directors, Mario Bava, passed away at the age of 65. Some of his many films (on which he was also cinematographer & writer) include “Black Sunday,” “Black Sabbath,” “Caltiki, The Immortal Monster” and “Blood and Black Lace.”
  • 1977 – Character actor Stanley Adams, who appeared in the TV movies “The Night Stalker” and “The Norliss Tapes,” passed away at the age of 62 He also appeared in “The Devil’s Platform” episode of “Kolchak: The Night Stalker” TV series and as “Cyrano Jones” in the “Star Trek” episode, “The Trouble With Tribbles.”
  • 1976 – Spanish star Carlos Villarías, notable for portraying “Count Dracula” in Universal Pictures Spanish version of “Dracula” in 1931.
