  • 1990 – Zac Richmond, who played “Ralphie Glick” in the 2005 TV mini-series version of “Salem’s Lot.”
  • 1965 – John C. Reilly, who starred in “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant,” “Dark Water” and “Dolores Claiborne.”
  • 1960 – Doug Jones, who played “Cesare” in the 2005 sound remake of “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,” the “Silver Surfer” in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” “The Ice Cream Man” in “Legion” and “Abe Sapien” in the “Hellboy” films” and many more.
  • 1953 – Nell Campbell who played “Little Nell” in the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Shock Treatment.”
  • 1953 – Alfred Molina, who starred as “Doctor Octopus” in “Spider-Man 2.” He also co-starred in “Hideaway” and “Species.”
  • 1952 – Bill Thornbury, is known best for his co-starring role of “Jody” in “Phantasm”, “Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead”, “Phantasm IV: Oblivion” and “Phantasm: Ravager.”
  • 1952 – Buxom Sybil Danning who appeared in the films “Battle Beyond the Stars,” “The Howling II” and “The Phantom Empire.”
  • 1949 – Jim Broadbent, who played “Professor Horance Slughorn” in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” He also appeared in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”
  • 1938 – Tommy Chong, one half of the “Cheech & Chong” comedy duo. He appeared in the film “Evil Bong.”
  • 1922 – Don Megowan who appeared as the Frankenstein Monster in the Hammer TV pilot “Tales of Frankenstein,” as well as the films “The Werewolf,” “Creation of the Humanoids” and as “The Creature (on land) in “Revenge of the Creature.”
  • 1911 – Harold Conway who appeared in “King Kong vs. Godzilla,” “Mothra” and “Goke the Body Snatcher From Hell.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – MAY 24

  • 2013 – Françoise Blanchard, had appeared in “Little Dracula (TV Series)”, “Revenge in the House of Usher”, “The Living Dead Girl”, and more. She passed away at the age of 58.
  • 2009 – Jack Lewis who wrote the screenplays for “The Amazing Transparent Man” and “Billy the Kid vs Dracula,” passed away at the age of 84.
  • 2008 – Robert Knox who plays “Marcus Belby” in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” tragically, was stabbed in a bar brawl, protecting his younger brother. This occurred just days after the filming of his final scenes in the film. He was 18 years old.
  • 2008 – Dick Martin of the “Rowan & Martin” comedy team, passed away at the age of 86. Besides gaining fame on the show “Laugh-In” he appeared with many of the same cast members in the film “The Maltese Bippy” where he moves into a house next to a family of vampires.
  • 1997 – Edward Mulhare, who played the title role in the TV series “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”, passed away at the age of 74. He also co-starred in the film “Eye Of The Devil.”
  • 1996 – John Abbott who appeared in the films “The Vampire’s Ghost” and “Cry of the Werewolf,” passed away at the age of 90.
  • 1996 – Roland Varno, passed away at the age of 88. He co-starred in the films “Scared To Death” with Bela and “Return of the Vampire” with, guess who, again Bela.
  • 1987 – Hermione Gingold who appeared in the films, “Munster, Go Home,” “Rocket To the Moon” and “Bell Book & Candle,” passed away at the age of 89.
  • 1978 – Barry Atwater who played the role of “Janos Skorzeny” in the TV movie “The Night Stalker,” and appeared in many TV series’ including “The Invaders,” “Voyage To the Bottom of the Sea,” “Night Gallery” and the original “Star Trek,” passed away at the age of 60.
  • 1969 – Richard Garland who appeared in the Roger Corman films “Attack of the Crab Monsters,” “The Undead” and “Panic In Year Zero,” passed away at the age of 41.
  • 1969 – Another Corman veteran, Paul Birch who appeared in the films “The Beast With a Million Eyes,” “The Day the World Ended” and “Not of This Earth,” passed away at the age 57.
