Blood Feast, an Upcoming Horror Remake with All the Right Fixings. New Stills Inside!

13120013_915635818558401_8898286442242729260_oIn the world of (not that I’m on board with them) remakes, you don’t have to be a powerhouse or iconic franchise to garner a re-treatment. Sometimes you can be a golden oldie that maintained a certain level of cult following over the years. In case you forgot, Herschell Gordon Lewis’ 1963 horror film Blood Feast is getting a remake and the director even sealed his positive sentiments about the upcoming feature film by agreeing to appear in a cameo role.

This time 2016’s Blood Feast is brought to you by director Marcel Walz of Seed 2 fame and production company Gundo Entertainment based on the re-worked screenplay by Philip Lilienschwarz. I’m one of the few people who somewhat enjoyed Walz effort in Seed 2 and when dealing with a film about hacking people to pieces, cannibalism and crazy mystics, I kind of can’t think of anyone else who could bring that subject material to life.

Blood Feast‘s killer lead cast includes Robert Rusler (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2), Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sophie Monk (The Hills Run Red) and Sadie Katz (Wrong Turn 6). Other appearances include Liliana Nova, Annika Strauss, Roland Freitag and Wilfried Capet.

Check out some of the cast members in recently released photos below! I have to say, I’m impressed with the camera work seen in the stills and can’t wait to see more from this upcoming title!

Synopsis: “Fuad Ramses and his family have moved from the United States to France, where they run an American diner. Since business is not going too well, Fuad also works night shifts in a museum of ancient Egyptian culture. During these long, lonely nights he becomes allured by goddess Ishtar as she speaks to him in visions. Eventually he succumbs to her deadly charms. After this pivotal night, Fuad begins a new life, in which murder and cannibalism become his daily bread. As butchered bodies are heaped upon the Altar of Ishtar, Fuad slowly slips further into madness, until he is no more than the goddess’s puppet…”
