Hana Mae Lee to Star in ABRUPTIO
Pitch Perfect and Jem and the Holograms star Hana Mae Lee has joined the cast of ABRUPTIO as the female lead, Chelsea.
The horror/thriller follows Les Hackel, a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive while trying to discover the mastermind manipulating the now twisted world around him.
ABRUPTIO is like no other film to date. All of the actors on screen are life-sized, realistic latex puppets, paying homage to the kind of puppetry cinema that the Hensons are known for (Labyrinth, Dark Crystal). A fan of Jim Henson, writer and director Evan Marlowe hopes to pay this art form justice.
Lee joins an incredible cast that includes Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) and James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as the voice of Les.
British Producer Kerry Marlowe (Horror House) of HellBent Pictures is producing. The film is currently in production in Los Angeles, with an anticipated release in 2018.
