  • 1991 – Addison Timlin, has appeared in “The Town That Dreaded Sundown”, “Odd Thomas”, and “Californication (TV Series).”
  • 1982 – Lily Rabe, starred in the second season of the FX chiller “American Horror Story”.
  • 1967 – Melora Hardin,has appeared in “Falling Skies (TV Series)”, “Zombie Hamlet”, “Tower of Terror” and more.
  • 1957 – Maria Conchita Alonso, Cuban beauty who appeared in “The Running Man”, “Vampire’s Kiss”, “Predator 2″, “The Dead One”, “Dark Moon Rising” and “The Lords of Salem”.
  • 1944 – Gary Busey, appeared in “Hex”, “Silver Bullet”, “Predator 2″, “The Gingerdead Man” and “Piranha 3DD”.
  • 1920 – The late Ray Harryhausen, the stop motion effects legend who worked on such films as “Mighty Joe Young”, “It Came from Beneath the Sea”, “20 Million Miles to Earth”, “Jason and the Argonauts”, “Clash of the Titans” and many more.
  • 1919 – Slim Pickens, western star who made one lone foray into horror in “The Howling” as “Sheriff Sam Newfield”.
  • 1911 – Bernard Herrmann, film composer extraordinaire who scored such films as “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, “Psycho”, “Mysterious Island”, “Twilight Zone” and countless others.
  • 1876 – Maria Ouspenskaya, Russian actress best known for her role as “Maleva the Gypsy” in “The Wolf Man” and “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man”, she was also a popular acting coach in Hollywood and New York.

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY 

  • 2008 – Don S. Davis, appeared in “Watchers”, “Needful Things”, “Beneath”, “The Uninvited” and played “General Hammond” on “Stargate: SG-1″
  • 2009 – Jan Rubes, appeared in “The Kiss”, “Nightmare Man”, “The Amityville Curse” and episodes of “The X-Files”.
  • 1997 – William Hickey, was a great character actor who is remembered for his distinctive voice and for playing “Uncle Lewis” in “Christmas Vacation.” He also appeared in “The Maddening”, “The Outer Limits (TV Series)”, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, The Runestone”, “Tales from the Darkside: The Movie”, “Tales from the Crypt (TV Series)”, “Puppetmaster”, “Tales from the Darkside (TV Series)”, “The Sentinel”, and a host of other films and TV shows. He passed away at the age of 69 from emphysema due to years of smoking cigars.
  • 1978 – Bob Crane, will be remembered best for portraying “Col. Robert E. Hogan” in “Hogan’s Heroes (TV Series).” He also appeared in “Night Gallery (TV Series)”, “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (TV Series)”, “Twilight Zone (TV Series)” and more. He was murdered in his hotel room in Scottsdale, Az. at the age of 49. He murder was never solved and remains a mystery to this very day.
