Happy Halloween from Patrick Rea and BicMedia!

Rea, most known for directing Nailbiter, Howl of a Good Time and Enclosure, was tapped to direct a 360 degree short film for Kansas City based company BicMedia. Filming any project as a 360 degree project creates an almost 3D, iMAX experience in the comforts of your own home. It’s a trend in Hollywood that’s slowly becoming one of the most popular methods of captivating an audience and giving them more than they bargained for in any genre of film.

Who’s Laughing Now Clowns is the three minute short film they created as a virtual reality experience. It, obviously, deals with the creepy clown phenomenon that’s currently gripping The United States. When you begin this journey as the POV of the character, from your perspective at home, you’re in front of television screens broadcasting various clown sightings. From there, you realize you’re in a basement or abandoned building… and something’s coming for you.

I know that we use the term creepy a lot in this field of work, so I will say Who’s Laughing Now Clowns is honestly terrifying.

Viewing this short film works best on your home computer using Chrome/Firefox, through the YouTube App on your phone or on your iPad. Listening with your headphones or VR headset will give you the best quality audio.

Who’s Laughing Now Clowns was written and created by Austin Bickford, Julian Bickford, Brandon Todd, Patrick Rea and Corwin Carroll. Crew members include Rea as director, Curtis Edlin on camera, Danny Bowersox on audio, Jacki Butler on make-up/wardrobe and Steven Bartkoski heading the art department.

Brooklyn Funk, Davis DeDrock and Kimberly Horne star.
