Blood Snow

LOS ANGELES, CA — 08/05/09 — Foreign sales agents at American World Pictures representing the independent horror film, “Blood Snow” (which is known in the U.S. market as “Necrosis”), has signed foreign distribution deals for the feature in several overseas markets including: Japan, Taiwan, Russia, The Middle East, Czech Republic, and Turkey.

Despite the declining big-budget foreign purchases of U.S. made films, sales of smaller independent films like “Blood Snow / Necrosis” proves there is still a demand for content produced in the U.S.

The smaller production budget of “Necrosis,” which stars James Kyson Lee (‘Ando’ on NBC’s “Heroes”), George Stults (“7th Heaven”) and Tiffany (80’s Pop Star), allowed for a much smaller “Minimum Guarantee” from the foreign distributors than the larger studio-based films. “Necrosis” also stars Penny Drake (“Zombie Strippers”) Danielle De Luca (“Naked Fear”), Robert Michael Ryan (“How I Met Your Mother”) and has an extended cameo appearance from horror icon Michael Berryman (“The Hills Have Eyes”).

Produced on location in South Lake Tahoe, Big Bear Mountain, and Ventura, California, by Unknown Productions Incorporated in 2008/2009, they rapidly turned out the finished film in time for the 2009 Paranoia Film Festival in March, held on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California and then selling foreign rights at the Cannes Film Market in May.

“Necrosis” (AKA “Blood Snow”) is a Psychological Horror Film that follows a group of friends at an isolated cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains who become trapped by an epic snowstorm and are haunted by ghosts from the Donner Party.

With a U.S. deal for “Necrosis” in the works, Unknown Productions is developing several films for 2010/2011, including another horror film, a thriller and a romantic comedy.
