Big Biting Pig Productions’ other recent offering along with GoatSucker is this psychological horror drama with P.J. Woodside taking over the directing job this time around and with Steve Hudgins producing and acting in a key role.

Widow is the story of Vivian Potts (Cindy Maples), a woman who just lost her husband in a mysterious hotel bathroom accident while on a business trip. Vivian’s sister (Kim Welsh) comes to her aide after the funeral and tries to help her with coping with her loss. Soon Vivian is plagued by dreams and visions about her husband. In these dreams it appears he’s trying to tell her something. Vivian begins to suspect there’s more to his death than what was actually reported happened. Vivian begins dating the man (producer Steve Hudgins) who comes to her house to help with cleaning out her husband’s old belongings. She tells her sister about her dreams and starts writing details of them down to figure out if there’s a pattern to them so she can understand what the message is her deceased husband might be trying to tell her from beyond the grave. It soon becomes evident that her sister has plans up her sleeve to take advantage of her husband’s death for her own personal desires. Things grow more intense between the two as it leads up to a suspenseful, brutal climax and a twist ending that puts the puzzle together in a most inventive and mind-bending way.

Widow is an original, well-acted, and chilling psychological thriller with brilliant performances from Cindy Maples and Kim Welsh and a tense finale with more twists and turns than a roller coaster. It’s also not without blood as there is a little bit of gore near the end, but nothing major. Overall, it’s a very thought-provoking psychological horror effort and a good directing effort from P.J. Woodside, a key female member of the BBPP production team.

BBPP’s DVD release of Widow presents the movie in widescreen and contains a blooper reel and trailers as extras. Go to their website at www.bigbitingpigproductions.com to order your copy of this and GoatSucker today.
