Review: Come

Come. Clockwerk Pictures. Reviewed by Brian Kirst

Using a touch of Lovecraft and an ounce of kinky, Kirk Chastain and Arthur Cullipher of Clockwerk Productions, have come up an original and-ahem- juicy vision with their short film Come.

A secretive gentleman arrives at in a dusky locale and procures a hidden devise that is promised to deliver in spades for his particular bent of sexuality. Arriving at his home, the ‘suck-ular’ creature that emerges from the purchased  jar produces erotic abandon, hidden despair and bloody revelations all in one fell swoop. In fact, could the stranger that has been mutilating prostitutes by grafting vaginas on their faces actually be closer than we think?

Moody, visually outrageous and featuring another stand-out performance from indie horror regular Marv Blauvelt (whom proves that he could have been just at home in the noir cinema of the 40’s as he is in penny pinching fright flicks today), Come ultimately celebrates the unique vision and talent that can be present in the current scare scene.

While geared towards fright lovers who drink with their eyes first and seemingly a few minutes too long to pack its ultimate punch, Come is still a winning adventure for the senses and proves that Chastain and Cullipher should have plenty of extraordinary openings left to explore in the field of otherworldly, Cronenbergian horror in the future.

  1. Thanks for reviewing “Come”….it is a very unique and bizzare little film and working with Chastain and Cullipher was an incredibly positive experience….they both have a dark (yet beautiful) visionary style that is all there own! I am VERY proud to be part of “Come” and have been told by many that I gave my best performance in this film to date….I know that Clockwerk pictures is planning on submitting it to many Indie horror festivals this year, so if you get the chance to see it…please do! I think we are going to see ALOT of interesting work from these guys in the future!
