Leslie Vernon to Return As A Prequel?

I stumbled upon something interesting while browsing the IMDB forum for Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. I can’t begin to think how it would work, but there are some signs that Leslie Vernon will be returning in the form of a prequel. A film page has been added to IMDB called B4TM, and is scheduled to be shot or released in 2012. B4TM is cited at the bottom of the page for being short for Before The Mask. Glen Echo Entertainment, Scott Glosserman, and David J. Stieve are all listed on the page as production company, director, and writer once again. Even cast members from the first film, most notably Nathan Baesel and Angela Goethals, are credited on the page as well. You can check it out for yourself here.

Before The Mask would be a prequel to the hit 2007 horror-mockumentary, Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Behind The Mask follows a new serial killer, Leslie Vernon, as he is followed by a camera crew who are documenting his every move. The film is a great mix of comedy and horror, while it also pays homage to great horror films and icons, and pokes fun at horror stereotypes. I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. It won a lot of awards, including “Best Film” at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. Talks about a sequel died off in 2009, but now it looks like Leslie could be returning to our DVD players.

B4TM is currently “in production,” even though no official word has been given. So, there is still a chance this could be just a rumor. However, if it were true, would you be excited to see it?
