By the time we actually get to see The Lashman, we’ll probably be able to release a book full of previously released posters. It will be like a journey through time, or it will be like ‘The Evolution of Dance.’ Oh yeah, picture director Cameron McCasland dancing to Vanilla Ice and Backstreet Boys. But, seriously, the new poster for The Lashman looks great. It’s probably the best one yet. I’ve always been a fan of the movie posters/covers where they feature the cast in the poster; the best representation I can think of off the top of my head is the Scream posters. The newest poster, featured to the left, not only shows the cast, but it also raises a question. Why is the silhouette of a woman featured so prominently in the poster? Is an attractive woman the main target? Is she in a partnership with The Lashman? Is she just there because, ya know, who’s going to complain about a poster that features a large breasted woman? I guess we’ll have to wait until The Lashman comes out to see whether the silhouette is important to the plot or just smart marketing.
The Lashman “follows a group of friends who go away to a backwoods cabin in Kentucky where they hear about the legend of The Lashman. They don’t take caution and heed the tale, of course, and will end up on the chopping block.” The Lashman will star Stacey Dixon (Monster Cruise), Kaylee Williams (Zombie Babies), Shawn C Phillips (Banshee!!!), Jeremy Jones, Todd Bush, David Vaughn, and a cameo from Larry Underwood (Dr. Gangrene).
