Helping Fund a Jacobs Ladder-style horror

I’ve been producer on an independent Irish horror feature film that is shot and edited, and we are really proud of what we have made.

Think of a horror film in the style of Jacob’s Ladder, or David Lynch’s unusual side. It’s about a woman who finally discovers life after growing up under the thumb of her domineering mother. Everything in life seems to be going perfect, until her imaginary friend from her childhood starts appearing and haunting her.

I can confidently say there is no other film quite like it in Ireland, and I think people could really enjoy it! The only problem is, our funder was hit by the recession so couldn’t finish funding the film (though let me say, the budget was ULTRA low anyway!). We put in as much money into the film as we could to get it done, and we have an almost totally finished film except for a colour grade and digital print, which we cannot afford ourselves. You can probably see where I’m going with this!!

You can see the trailer here:

We have started a campaign on Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/sodiumparty) to try and raise the money we need to finish the film. Please check out the trailer, and if you think you would like to see the film, it would mean the world if you would contribute or spread the word. Though the film was very low budget, dozens of people put in hundreds of hours of work, and we think there are plenty of people out there who will get a big kick out of the film.

Cheers for reading this. I know it’s a pain when someone comes for something like this! But I figured if anyone was going to like this film, it’d be the Horror Society folks!!
