I remember when I was in elementary school the big thing was “Holes! The book is now a movie!” Well, this is pretty much “Happy Hour Blues! The book is now a movie!” My only question is – what can be sad about happy hour?
JABB Pictures, the company behind the legendary Collective volumes, is teaming up with Well Hung Pictures (which is co-managed by Brandon S. Bennett) and J. Travis Grundon to turn his book Happy Hour Blues into an anthology film. Obviously, each short story will be adapted into a short film and will be compiled on the Happy Hour Blues film and DVD. Many incredible indie filmmakers are in talks to direct the short film adaptions of Grundon’s short stories.
Currently, Well Hung Pictures is working on another adaption of Grundon’s, a short film called Unanswered. This work comes directly from Grundon’s previous novel, Eclectic Collection. The renowned Dark Rider Studios also adapted a piece of Eclectic Collection, which was featured in JABB Pictures Collective Volume 1. See, people? Everything always comes full circle in this industry.
Happy Hour Blues – Happy Hour Blues picks up where Eclectic Collection left off, with gritty, character-driven tales. What could go wrong when a boy and his friends try to snap a Polaroid of teenagers having sex in a cemetery? What would happen if choosing between a best friend and a girlfriend was a life or death decision? How would a guy deal with his sister being raped and murdered, if the killer was given two life sentences for his crime, and what if the nice girl you met in the bar had a deadly secret? Happy Hour Blues is J. Travis Grundon’s 2nd collection of short stories. This book weaves in and out of the lives of people at their best and worst. Often astucious and bleak, these stories can’t be unread. Buy it on Amazon.com by clicking here.
