Monster man's Born on this day in horror history 2

August 19

1977 – Callum Blue, who plays “Zod” on the TV series “Smallville.”

1965 – Kevin Dillion who starred in the 1988 remake of “The Blob” and “Out For Blood.” He starred in the ghoulishly good “Tales from The Crypt” episode entitled “House of Horror.”

1956 – Adam Arkin who appeared in “Halloween H2O” and “Full Moon High.”

1955 – Peter Gallagher who appeared in the 1999 remake of “House On Haunted Hill” and the film “Mother’s Boys.”

1933 – Debra Paget who appeared in the films “The Haunted Palace” and “Tales of Terror.” She retired from show business in 1963, when she married a Chinese millionaire. Hey Debra, does he have a sister?

1926 – The Tall Man of the “Phantasm” films, Angus Scrimm and “Chopping Mall”, “Subspecies”, “Mindwarp” and “John Dies at the End”.

1924 – The late William Marshall who played the title role of “Blacula” and in it’s sequel, “Scream Blacula Scream,” and also appeared in the films “The Boston Strangler,” “Abby” and “Dinosaur Valley Girls.”

1921 – The late great Gene Roddenberry. When he was a child, his brother, sister and mother were nearly killed in a house fire, but the milkman rescued them. So if it wasn’t for a lone milkman, there might not have been any “Star Trek.” He also survived two plane crashes while serving in World War II. Guess he was meant to stick around and create one of the best sci-fi series ever made for television.

1903 – Claude Dauphin who appeared in “Phantom of the Rue Morgue,” and played the “President of Earth” in the film “Barbarella.”

1899 – Olga Baclanova who appeared with Conrad Veidt in the 1928 version of “The Man Who Laughs,” and in the film “Freaks” (victim of the Freaks revenge).

1894 – Harvey B. Dunn who appeared in the films “Teenagers From Outer Space,” “Night of the Ghouls” and “Bride of the Monster.”
